Yes: Many scholars receiving compensation qualify for a Duke University Medical Insurance Plan. Postdoctoral Scholars and Associates can also be considered. Check with your sponsoring Duke department for verification. Please note that the Duke Medical Insurance Plan does not provide coverage for Medical Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains – You may purchase International SOS (ISOS) by visiting their website or calling 1-800-523-8662 to request an individual membership. The name of the policy you should request is VisitorUSA. If you do not qualify for a Duke University Medical Insurance Plan, you must purchase a policy on your own that meets or exceeds the minimum J-1 insurance requirements. |
